Improving the Numerical Modelling of In-Situ Rock Bolts Using Axial and Bending Strain Data from Instrumented Bolts

چکیده

Abstract Numerical modelling has become an important tool in the underground rock bolt reinforcement designing process. provides advantage of easily and quickly simulating complex geometries mechanisms with sensitivity analyses. However, a numerical model needs to be calibrated using mathematical solutions, lab testing or actual in-situ observations measurements (which is preferred method) before its results can quantitatively applied design. Instrumented bolts provide useful data source for calibrating models. In this work, procedures have been presented identify determine orientation structures mass based on strains instrumented bolts. A method calibrate also presented. The validated laboratory tests modelling. create FLAC3D are data.

Higher Accurate Estimation of Axial and Bending Stiffnesses of Plates Clamped by Bolts*

Equivalent stiffness of clamped plates should be prescribed not only to evaluate the strength of bolted joints by the scheme of “joint diagram” but also to make structural analyses for practical structures with many bolted joints. We estimated the axial stiffness and bending stiffness of clamped plates by using Finite Element (FE) analyses while taking the contact condition on bearing surfaces ...

Base plate in bending and anchor bolts in tension

This paper describes the behaviour of the base plate in bending and the anchor bolts in tension, which are the major components of a base plate connection. An analytical model has been derived to predict the component characteristics – the resistance and the stiffness. A description is given of how the behaviour is influenced by contact between the base plate and the concrete surface. The prese...

An experimental study of axial load transfer mechanisms of cable bolts using axially split embedment apparatus

The load transfer mechanisms of cable bolts differ from those for normal rebar bolts. The cable bolts used in mines are basically steel strands with different constructions depending on the number of wires or elements and the way they are laid. Tendon bolts (rebar and cable) are normally evaluated for their strength and load transfer properties. The tendon strength can be evaluated by the tensi...

GVHD the nuts and bolts.

Acute graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) is the most frequent, morbid complication following allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT). Its clinical toxicity, requirement for intensive immunosup-pressive management, and associated infections lead to the greatest risks of nonrelapse mortality in HSCT recipients. In acute GVHD, donor-derived T lymphocyte-mediated alloreactivity is c...

Testing and numerical modelling of Steel-Concrete-Steel with stud bolts connectors subject to push-out loading

Steel-concrete-steel (SCS) sandwich panels are composed of two steel plates with low thicknesses and high densities and strengths and one thick layer between both plates with low strength and density known as core that is composed of concrete. Cohesive material-epoxy resin or shear connectors are usually used to connect the plates to the concrete core. SCS sandwich composites are being develope...
